1. Admission Fee is charged once at the time of admission.
2. Tuition Fee is for one semester. Winter Program tuition fee is waived for all students.

4. Bedding & Cleaning Fee is mandatory and includes rental and weekly cleaning of the bedding linen set. Please see the housing informationpage.
5. Mandatory Meal Fee for the first two weeks is included in the invoice and must be paid before your arrival.
6. Meal Fee after the first two weeks must be paid after your arrival. Meal fee varies depending on the meal options. Please see the dining informationpage.
7. Deposit covers bank transaction fees. The balance will be refunded at the time of the student’s departure from AIU. It is charged once at the time of admission.
8. Student Activity Fee includes fees for extracurricular activities, festivals, and various on-campus events as well as university-mandated insurance.

Cost of Living – Winter Program
Students who were originally nominated and accepted for the Fall Semester and Winter Program at the time of application, as well as those who enrolled from the Fall Semester through the following Spring Semester, may register for the optional intensive Winter Program. The fee structure for this program and estimated cost of living expenses for the winter are listed below.

4. Student Activity Fee covers university-mandated insurance fees and expenses related to activities, including maintenance of AIU campus facilities, etc., that are used for student activities. This fee applies to all students during the full duration of their enrollment at AIU, even if they are away from campus during the Winter Program. Non-refundable.

You will receive an invoice on July 1 for Fall Semester applicants and on February 1 for Spring Semester applicants. After you receive an invoice to your Online Application Portal account, please wire transfer the requested amount to AIU’s bank account.

If the payment is not made by the due date, your admission will be canceled.
Personal checks and credit card payments are not accepted at AIU.
Students are responsible for all bank transaction fees associated with the payment. Please make the transfer such that all local and overseas charges are borne by the sender.
Payment must be made in Japanese Yen.
The entire payment amount indicated on the invoice must be made in a single payment.
The deposit is the only refundable fee. Bank transaction fees will be deducted from the original deposit amount, and the remaining balance after deductions will be refunded at the time of the student’s departure from AIU.
